Evict Selfishness… If You Want To Reach Your Potential

Fact:  Some people thrive on negativity. They find it impossible to fully support anything.  Everything is flawed.  They see imperfections and inconveniences everywhere and feel an intense need to point them out.

Pessimism becomes their identity.  Opposition becomes their default setting.  And it cripples them socially.

Negative people are quickly sidelined by others in the organization.  Hyper-critical people become irrelevant to the greater community.  Quality leaders recognize the potential cancer of constant complaining and disapproving and relegate them to secondary roles.

Now, quality, constructive criticism is absolutely necessary for successful organizations.  But out-of-control antagonism will crush positive growth and destroy momentum.  Every time.

If you find yourself constantly finding fault with everything you’re a part of, consider how it’s affecting your ability to live the life God’s called you to.  If you are consistently discouraging your family, your school, your job or your church, you have to answer this question…  “Who is sitting in the central seat of your life?” Because if you find it impossible to support anyone else’s ideas or successes or vision, that seat isn’t filled by Jesus.

It’s time to evict Selfishness/Pride and allow him to take his negativity with him.  Your heart belongs to Someone Else.
